North American violinist and songwriter, Gaelynn Lea, is returning to Wales for the first time since 2017 in order to support her latest concept album, Music from Macbeth. She will be performing at Chapter Arts Centre in Cardiff on May 20th 2025 with the supporting act Rightkeysonly.
Since winning NPR Music’s Tiny Desk Competition in 2016, Gaelynn Lea has captivated audiences around the world with her charming original songs and traditional fiddle tunes. Over the years, she has collaborated with artists such as Michael Stipe [REM], The Decemberists, and the industrial rock supergroup Pigface.
In 2022, Gaelynn Lea composed the original score for Macbeth on Broadway, starring Daniel Craig and Ruth Negga. Thanks to the recent Whippoorwill Arts Fellowship, her soundtrack is finally being released and she will be performing selections from the soundtrack during her UK concert tour.
One of Gaelynn Lea’s biggest interests is promoting Disability Culture. He co-founded RAMPD [Recording Artists and Music Professionals with Disabilities] in 2022 and has since connected with Deaf and disabled artists worldwide, including Ruth Lyons and James Holt in the UK.

About the artist…
Rightkeysonly is an E.D.M. artist, known for bringing experimental beats and heavy baselines to the music sector of Wales. Since her start as a busker, Keys has gone on to bring live drum and bass to the gardens of Cardiff Castle, techno-grime to the grassy hills of Powys, and electro-metal to the airwaves of BBC Introducing Wales. Keys uses music to empower other Disabled artists, like herself, with the hope of one day seeing a more inclusive sector.
