*Wynne Evans is a Welsh operatic tenor, broadcaster, and television personality, widely recognized as the character of Gio Compario in the Go Compare insurance adverts. He studied at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and the National Opera Studio, and has had a 25-year career performing at major opera houses like the Royal Opera House and Metropolitan Opera. Wynn joined the 2024 cast of Strictly Come Dancing, and hosted a popular daily show on BBC Radio Wales and a show on Radio 2, moving over to his own independently launched radio platform in 2025. Wynn has released two number-one classical albums, and won the 2023 Celebrity Masterchef title, which led to him becoming a partner at The Welsh House restaurant in Carmarthen, Wales, which serves dishes inspired by his time on Masterchef.
