Albany Gallery is starting the new year with a celebration of fresh talent and community creativity as it launches its first exhibition of 2026: the People’s Choice Exhibition, running from 9 January to 7 February.

The exhibition brings together a vibrant collection of work from artists who are completely new to the gallery. From painting and printmaking to mixed media and sculpture, the show offers visitors the chance to discover emerging voices and explore a wide range of styles and perspectives.

What makes this exhibition unique is its focus on audience participation. Throughout the month, visitors will be invited to vote for their favourite piece. The artist who receives the most votes will be awarded the People’s Choice Award 2026 and will earn a place in Albany Gallery’s popular Summer Show later in the year — a significant opportunity for any rising artist.

Exhibiting artists in the People’s Choice Exhibition include Felix Akulw, Cristina Ariza, Alex Arnell, Oscar Arnold, Susan Barber, Tibor Cervenak, Deborah Chapman, Louise Edwards, Nadia Epping, Phillip Jacobs, Garry Jones, Lara Kerem, Chrissie Kirby, Katie Magorrian, Liz Mallen, Wendy McLeod, Kate Montefiore, Denis Murphy, Claire Price, Anthony Skates, Anya Ward and Chris Wright.

The full exhibition will be available to view both in the gallery and online at www.albanygallery.com, with all works available to purchase once the exhibition opens. Anyone interested in making a purchase or enquiring about a piece can contact the gallery on 029 2078 9171 or email info@albanygallery.com. Delivery options are available on request.
