The best of Welsh flavours meet The Ivy’s signature flair on St David’s Day weekend, with an exclusive, limited-edition menu running between 27 February to 1 March

Over St David’s Day weekend, The Ivy Cardiff invite guests to dine on an exclusive, limited-edition menu that combines the best of Welsh flavours and produce with traditional Ivy flair. Available between the 27th February – 1st March, the Taste of Wales menu offers a refined yet relaxed way to celebrate St David’s Day by honouring local ingredients and Welsh heritage.

Served in The Ivy Cardiff’s iconic surroundings, the menu is the perfect way to raise a glass to Wales. Guests can begin their dining experience with options such as the twice-baked Cheese Soufflé with Black Truffle; a luxurious Welsh twist on a French classic featuring gratinated Caerphilly Cheese in a velvety cream sauce, finished with aromatic black truffle.

For the main course, savour the best of hearty Welsh cooking with Lamb and Leek Sausages sourced from the renowned JT Morgan Butchers, accompanied by creamed mashed potato, crispy leeks and a rich red wine sauce. Alternatively, enjoy the Welsh Smoked Haddock with Salmon Fishcake for a taste of the coast, featuring haddock expertly smoked at the Black Mountains Smokery in Crickhowell. For those seeking a British favourite, The Ivy Classic Shepherd’s Pie returns, with a Welsh touch; featuring slow-braised lamb and beef, topped with Caerphilly Cheese mash and served with a rich rosemary and red wine sauce.

To finish, enjoy a sweet taste of home with Freshly Baked Scones and Popty Bakery Welsh Cakes, served with clotted cream and strawberry Welsh Lady preserves, or the Flambéed Crème Brûlée served with a Bara Brith Aberffraw Biscuit – a comforting, nostalgic finale to a St David’s Day feast.

Finally, guests are invited to raise a glass in celebration of Wales and all it has to offer, with the ‘Y Ddôll’ (‘The Meadow’). Carefully crafted especially for the occasion, the exclusive cocktail sees Hensol Castle Dry Gin infused with the floral elegance of St. Germain, bright citrus, and a hint of chamomile bitters to evoke the spirit of the Welsh countryside.

Nick Power, Head Chef at The Ivy Cardiff, said: “From the incredible depth of flavour in JT Morgan’s sausages to the delicate smoke of the haddock from Crickhowell, every plate is a tribute to the local producers who keep our culinary traditions alive. It’s more than just a menu; it’s a celebration of our home and the perfect way to celebrate St David’s Day.”

The curated dining experience is a great way to gather with friends and family and celebrate Wales. The Menu is available at £28.95 for two courses and £35.95 for three courses.
