Penarth’s award-winning independent bookshop, Griffin Books, will host an evening with acclaimed nature writers James Roberts and Jon Gower on Thursday 21 August. Taking place in their newly extended shop on Penarth’s High Street, this event forms part of the Summer at Griffin Books programme.
James Roberts’ new book Two Lights: Walking at Dawn and Dusk on a Turning Planet, takes the reader through a variety of landscapes from the Cambrian Mountains to the Pacific Northwest, meditating on grief, connection, and the quiet power of nature. In Birdland, Jon Gower celebrates Britain’s birds, from birdsongs to murmuration, exploring their wonder and confronting the threats of climate change and habitat loss.
James Roberts is a writer and artist living in the Welsh Borders. Jon Gower is a former BBC Wales Arts and Media Correspondent and award-winning author of over 40 books.
The event will take place on Thursday 21 August at 7.30pm at Griffin Books, 9-9a Windsor Road, Penarth. Tickets start at £5.00 and can be purchased in person at Griffin Books or online at www.griffinbooksevents.co.uk.
