Local artists adds splash of colour to Cardiff city centre

New artworks by Cardiff-based artist Suzanne Carpenter have brought a splash of colour to the taxi ranks outside Cardiff Central Railway Station. Commissioned by FOR Cardiff, the vibrant designs draw inspiration from the city’s architectural heritage, including the Hayes, the arcades, and transport motifs linked to the station’s location. The installation adds a playful, local touch to one of the city’s busiest public spaces.

Cardiff Half Marathon celebrates 22nd year with record turnout

On Sunday, 5 October, the 2025 Oysho Cardiff Half Marathon returned to the Welsh capital for its 22nd edition, with over 29,000 people registered across the main race and junior events. The flat, fast course takes runners past some of Cardiff’s most iconic landmarks, including Cardiff Castle, the Principality Stadium, Civic Centre, Penarth Marina, and Cardiff bay. This year’s theme, We’re All In, celebrated the sense of community and connection found through running, and welcomed the highest-ever number of international participants. The event remains one of Europe’s largest half marathons and Wales’ biggest multi-charity fundraising race.
