In January, Albany Gallery will host an open call, inviting artists to showcase their work. The exhibition will include a People’s Choice award, with the winter earning a place in the gallery’s Summer Exhibition. Celf Gallery
New works by John Macfarlane
1st – 23rd November 2025
The internationally-acclaimed John Macfarlane presents a striking collection that bridges the worlds of stage and canvas. Celebrated for his evocative designs for the Royal Ballet, Welsh National Opera, and the Metropolitan Opera, he brings the drama of the theatre to his paintings and prints.

Winter/Anniversary
28th November 2025 – 25th January 2026
This year’s winter exhibition, a mixed show by gallery artists, represents their second anniversary. “We would like to thank the local community for their support. We hope that the gallery has contributed to Roath fast becoming the cultural hub of Cardiff,” said Myfanwy Shorey, gallery owner.
New Paintings by Richard Barrett
February 2026
Originally from Cardiff, Richard studied ecology at Sheffield, but quickly realised that his future lay elsewhere, and a successful art career has followed. Richard’s new work comprises multi-faceted landscapes, that invite the viewer to create their own story.

March 2026
Winner of the V&A Illustrated Book Award and recipient of the Glyndŵr Award for Outstanding Contribution to the Arts in Wales. Expect magical-realism and a fairytale-like quality to his work.
