The Space Vixens Are Ready to Descend on Penarth

Concept Players invite you to Saucy Jacks, a seedy cabaret bar on board the interstellar space station, the Frottage III, presided over by the alluring and charismatic Saucy Jack himself. All is not well and danger lurks in every corner as the cabaret acts are being picked off by a serial killer with a penchant for fancy footwear. The Space Vixens, interstellar, super-fashion crime fighters here to save the day by the Power of Disco, arrive to solve the mystery killings!

With Book and Lyrics by Charlotte Mann and Michael Fidler, Music by Jonathan Croose and Robin Forrest and additional music by Adam Meggido and James Compton Based on original ideas by Johanna Allitt, Simon Curtis, Charlotte Mann and Michael Fidler, Saucy Jack and the Space Vixens was first performed at C Venue at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival on 9th August, 1995. It played to sold out audiences and received a coveted Fringe First Award for “innovation in theatre and outstanding new production”. The show then premiered in the West End of London, produced by Ian Lenagan for Counterpoint Theatre at the Queen’s Theatre, Shaftesbury Avenue on 25th March 1998.

This new local production is the brainchild of Shane Rose-Goodsir who previously played the role of Dr Willy Von Whackoff in a production just outside of London.

“I have been very excited to bring this crazy show to South Wales theatre audiences for a long time and I’ve now finally been let loose to create something quite special. To be able to take the performers off the main stage of the Paget Rooms and place them amongst the audience in an immersive cabaret bar in deep space is not something you get the chance to do everyday, I can’t wait to see what people’s reaction will be”

Complete with a cabaret to kick off the evening and disco classics to end the night, this will be a one of a kind party musical you won’t want to miss!
