For decades, Specsavers Penarth has been at the heart of the community, delivering professional eye and hearing care to thousands of local people.

A locally owned and run business, the store is led by retail director, James Deavall, and ophthalmic director, Andrew Moss, and a dedicated team who are passionate about combining clinical expertise with a community focus.

Specsavers Penarth offers Independent Prescribing (IP) services, enabling optometrists to diagnose and treat a wide range of serious eye conditions directly in-store. This enhanced level of care means customers are seen and treated much faster than if they were waiting for a hospital referral, helping to ease pressure on local NHS services.

The team also manages urgent, same-day appointments, keeping a range of treatments and prescription eye drops readily available to ensure care is fast, professional and convenient.

Its care extends beyond the test rooms. This season, the Penarth team donated more than £2,300 to grassroots sports clubs, helping to provide kits and equipment for local football and bowls teams.

“Supporting our customers while being part of the local community is what motivates our team every day,” says Andrew Moss. “We want people to feel confident they can access expert care quickly and conveniently, right here in Penarth.”

Specsavers Penarth is open seven days a week for routine and urgent appointments. Home visits are also available for anyone unable to attend in person.
