Concept Players open their sparkling production of Sense and Sensibility on Thursday 25th September.

Concept Players’ much anticipated production of Kate Hamill’s award-winning adaptation of Jane Austen’s Sense and Sensibility opens this week at The Paget Rooms, Penarth, running from Thursday 25th – Saturday 27th September 2025.

Hamill’s playful and inventive script – praised in New York as one of the “Top 10 Plays of 2014” – brings a fresh twist to Austen’s beloved novel. The story follows the Dashwood sisters, Elinor and Marianne, as they navigate love, heartbreak, and society’s expectations in a fast-paced world of gossip and romance. Packed with humour, movement and heart, this adaptation promises to sweep audiences off their feet.

Concept Players, one of South Wales’ most respected theatre companies, have delighted local audiences with past hits including Sunset Boulebard, Anything Goes and Saucy Jacks. Known for high-quality, inventive productions, they are now set to charm Penarth once again.

Director Cathryn Rose says: “We’re thrilled to finally bring this production to the stage. It’s witty, it’s touching, and it’s full of life – a night of theatre that audiences won’t forget.”
