Pride Month 2026 is officially underway! With Barry Pride kicking things off last weekend, we’re rolling straight into a packed few weeks of events, performances and community-led celebrations that remind us why this month matters — celebrating love, acceptance and the brilliant LGBTQI+ communities that shape our culture.
From the big, bold energy of Pride Cymru to the charm of Cowbridge Pride, there’s something happening in every corner. Chapter Arts Centre is hosting its brand‑new Chapter Queer Film Prize on 11 June, while Penarth Pier Pavilion is serving up a gorgeous programme of LGBTQI+ films throughout the month.
With more events popping up across the next few weeks, Pride 2026 is shaping up to be a joyful, community‑powered reminder of how important and wonderful it is to come together and celebrate the people, stories and shared moments that make Pride such a highlight of the year.
Chapter Arts Centre

10th – 11th June
Madfabulous
Chapter Arts Centre brings a burst of Pride‑month glamour with Madfabulous, a lush and lively portrait of Henry Cyril Paget — the “dancing Marquess” who lit up Victorian Anglesey with jewels, gowns and unapologetic self‑expression. Set against a rigid, class‑bound society, the film follows Henry’s dazzling defiance as he charms allies and unsettles the gentry, celebrating a life lived boldly and beautifully.
The perfect Pride‑season pick for anyone who loves a story about glamour, rebellion and the joy of being fully yourself.

Chapter Arts Centre is celebrating Welsh LGBTQIA+ filmmaking with the Chapter Queer Film Prize — a showcase of standout queer short films from across the region. As a nominating partner for the Iris Prize Best British Short, Chapter will screen the shortlisted films before announcing the winner. The winning film goes on to feature in the Iris Prize Best of British strand and will be broadcast nationally on Channel 4 and Film4.

Cowbridge Pride returns w/c 22 June, building towards the Pride Parade on 28 June — a vibrant, welcoming celebration that brings colour and community spirit to the town centre. The festivities kicked off earlier this month with Mayor Malcolm Wilson’s Coffee Morning at Cowbridge Town Hall, a relaxed and friendly start to the week that brought people together over conversation, connection and plenty of Pride energy, while raising funds for Dementia Friendly Cowbridge. With more events planned throughout the week and the parade as the joyful finale, Cowbridge Pride continues to champion inclusion, kindness and the strength of its local LGBTQIA+ community.
