COOK, the frozen food company famous for its home-prepared meals and puddings, is delighted to welcome Cowbridge to the family with the opening of a new shop.

From today locals can pop into the new shop, located at Unit 3, Birds Lane, High Street, Cowbridge to discover COOK’s range of home-prepared meals and puddings. The freezers are stocked with firm customer favourites, like creamy Lasagne Al Forno, rich Beef Bourguignon that’s been slow-cooked for hours, and comforting Classic Fish Pie which is topped with deliciously-buttery mashed potato. There are options for everyone, from handy meals for one, to romantic dinners for two, and family-sized dishes for four, six and eight. Vegetarians, vegans, and anyone who needs gluten-free or dairy-free can find plenty to fill their freezers too.

Matthew Bourne, Retail Director at COOK, commented: “We’re thrilled to be opening a shop in Cowbridge so we can share our food with the community. Every single dish we make is created with care and by hand in COOK’s kitchens in Kent and Somerset. Our chefs chop, stir, simmer and roast using the same ingredients you’d use at home. Think proper gravy, real butter, and meat from farmers like Grass Roots, who use regenerative farming practices to ensure the meat used in COOK’s dishes has the lowest carbon footprint possible.”

Situated in the heart of the Vale of Glamorgan, Cowbridge is one of Wales’ most charming market towns. Home to around 6,000 residents and known for its independent shops, thriving high street and strong sense of community, it’s a place where local businesses are valued and neighbours look out for one another. COOK is excited to become part of the town and serve customers from Cowbridge and the surrounding villages. This shop joins its other branches in Wales, located in Cardiff and Monmouth, which are already a strong part of their local communities.

COOK has always been a community-led business with a strong belief that business should benefit both people and the planet. COOK became one of the UK’s first certified B Corporations in 2013 and has been voted one of the Sunday Times’ Best Companies to Work For eight years running. They are also focussed on supporting the communities in which they operate. That’s why it runs its Community Kitchen programme, giving 30% off to community groups bringing people together over good food, and pays everyone the real Living Wage.

Cowbridge now joins 100+ shops across the country and over 850 independent retailers selling COOK’s dishes.

Customers can also order online at www.cookfood.net, so there’s always a delicious home-cooked meal within easy reach.
