New Exhibition Opens to Celebrate Local Artist

Vale of Glamorgan Mayor, Cllr Elliot Penn, opened up a new exhibition at Arts Central Gallery to celebrate the work of local artist and photographer Malcolm Downes. The collection of work on displays shows of his range of creative photographic styles.

Tŷ Hafan Care Team to Tackle 25k for 25 years

Thirty members to Tŷ Hafan care team geared up to walk 25 kilometres from the centre of Cardiff to the charity’s hospice in Sully this September in a bid to raise £10,000. The ’25k for 25 years’ challenge took place on September 8th and was created by the care team themselves to mark Tŷ Hafan’s first 25 years.

‘There’s no place like Y Bont-Faen this Christmas’

It’s that time of year again! The Cowbridge Pantomime, at Cowbridge Town Hall, is going to be the ‘Wizard of Cowbridge’. A fun, reimagined version of the classic story, where Dorothy finds herself lost in Cowbridge at Christmas time! Following the success a previous productions, the Ducky Fuzz Production company are in the works to put together a festive performance from the 14th to 27th December with tickets from £12 which you can get here. With Gareth Thomas as the voice of Santa Claus, Caryl Parry Jones as the voice of Mrs Clause and Ian H Watkins as the voice of The Spirit of Christmas.

Vale of Glamorgan Business Awards 2024

Another successful year for the businesses at the Vale of Glamorgan Business Awards 2024, where the excellence of our country’s businesses are celebrated. The event took place earlier this October at an exciting black tie event, with pre-event entertainment by the Barry Male Voice Choir and hosted by famous Welsh television news reader, presenter and author, Lucy Owen. Some of the winners include Wales Interactive for Digital Business of the Year, Fonman Castle as Green Business of the Year, Bro Radio for Third Sector Organisation of the Year and Hensol Castle Distillery for Tourism and Leisure Business for the Year, and many others. The VOG Business Awards have also raised £728 for Tenovus Cancer Care thanks to all the generous donations before and during the awards night.

What’s On at Forage Farm and Kitchen

Forage Farm and Kitchen always have some incredible events going on, and this wintery season is no different. Their popular Pick-Your-Own pumpkin events runs until 31st October, which is the perfect place to enjoy a fun, autumnal day out.
