Evening Class: The Making of Modern Art by Morgan Haigh
Have you ever wanted to learn more about Modern Art?
The Making of Modern Art is a five-week course which takes in all the movements in European and American art from the 1850s to the new millennium. As the world changed beyond all recognition due to extraordinary inventions, cataclysmic conflicts, and the excitement of the growing cities, how did art and artists respond to the new modern world? From Impressionism to Surrealism, Cubism to Pop Art, with popular favourites such as Vincent van Gogh and Any Warhol as well as less known gems, this wide-reaching course will cover it all from Eastern Europe to the midwest of America and everything in between.
If you want to know your Manet from your Monet, your Oldenburg from your O’Keefe, or your Duchamp from your Dali, then this is the course for you!
No previous knowledge required.
Please note this is an IN PERSON class taking place Wednesdays, 6-8pm at Turner House. Places are limited.
