Introduction to Blacksmithing

These one day courses are a chance to try your hand at the ancient art of blacksmithing in the inspirational setting of Gweithdy, the Museum’s workshop and gallery celebrating the skills of makers past and present.

Working as part of a small group under the guidance of Andrew Murphy, the Museum blacksmith, you’ll learn how to manipulate hot steel and create your own uniquely decorated piece of metalwork.

Each student will make a simple poker, plus a couple of other small items from a suggested list* to take home. *(if there’s time)

This fun, relaxed day is suitable for the complete beginner. There will be two places available to book on each day.
