On the Sea follows Tom refuses to follow in his father’s footsteps to join the family business, creating tension fuelled by his feelings for Daniel, an itinerant deckhand.
Set on the shores of Anglesey, On the Sea displays the hardships of rural life on a seaside town, dealing with the expectations of a small-town community and the male psyche when that expectation isn’t met. This is a quiet and meditative piece of Welsh cinema.
