Summer Crime Night: The Missing

It’s no secret that we love a good crime novel and psychological thriller here at Griffin Books. So we’re very excited to announce the return of our Summer Crime Night this July. We have not one, not two, but THREE fabulous authors on our panel, all with gripping new books featuring missing people.

A woman is seen on CCTV entering a dead-end alley but never emerges; a family completely disappear from their dinghy in the middle of a lake; a girl goes missing while partying at a music festival deep in the Welsh countryside.

Join Gillian McAllisterTim Weaver and Louise Mumford for an evening that is guaranteed to keep you on the edge of your seat.

We’re expecting this to be a very popular event, so book early to avoid disappointment!

Gillian McAllister is the Sunday Times and New York Times bestselling author of eight stand-alone novels. Her books have been selected for the Radio 2 Book Club, Reese’s Book Club, the Richard & Judy Book Club, and have been published in thirty-eight languages. Her latest book, Just Another Missing Person, is released in paperback on 6 June.

Tim Weaver is the Sunday Times bestselling author thirteen novels, including No One is Home, The Blackbird and The Last Goodbye, and a short story collection. He is the host and producer of the chart-topping Missing podcast and is currently developing an original TV series with the team behind Line of Duty. A former journalist and magazine editor, Tim lives near Bath with his wife and daughter.

Louise Mumford lives in Cardiff and spends her time trying to get down on paper all the marvellous and thrilling things that happen in her head. Her debut novel, Sleepless, a “frighteningly inventive” speculative thriller inspired by her own experience of insomnia, was published by HQ HarperCollins in December 2020. This was followed by two more thrillers, The Safe House and The Hotel– both Amazon bestsellers. Her fourth book, The Festival, is released in paperback, audio and ebook on 1 August 2024. Louise is Co-Chair of Crime Cymru, a co-operative of crime fiction writers with a connection to Wales.
