This is a very attractive country walk through typical Vale farmland and rolling hills. The route closely follows the narrow river towards the village of Llancarfan, passing through fields with the occasional herd of sheep or horses then eventually reaching the outskirts of Llancarfan where we will find an old mill and medieval abbey both occupied. A sweeping return route, mostly through fields of cereal crops but also visiting Llantrithyd to view its ancient church and ruined manor house and finally passing an old deer park with the possibility of sighting a few deer.
A refreshment break is planned, please bring a snack, drink and water.
