This summer, City Hospice’s much-loved Forever Flowers campaign returns, bringing a breathtaking display of pink poppies to the historic grounds of Cardiff Castle.
Forever Flowers supports the vital work of City Hospice, the only provider of home-based specialist palliative care in Cardiff. The charity offers a wide range of services including nursing care, welfare advice, complementary therapies, and bereavement support and counselling for families facing terminal or life-limiting illness.
Now in its sixth consecutive year, the charity’s chosen Forever Flower in 2026 is the pink poppy, symbolising love, compassion, peace and admiration. Expertly crafted, these unique and lasting tributes will form a stunning public display at Cardiff Castle from 6th to 16th August.
Supporters are invited to purchase a limited-edition pink poppy, priced at £28, to remember and celebrate the lives of loved ones.
The Celebration of Life on the 6th of August will mark the opening of this years’ Forever Flowers display, bringing the community together for reflection and togetherness. Set within this iconic location, the evening will feature uplifting performances from the Super Rock Choir and other acts on the DEPOT Stage, creating a heartfelt and memorable atmosphere.

Become a volunteer with Cardiff’s local hospice
At City Hospice, we’re incredibly fortunate to be supported by over 250 dedicated volunteers. Their roles are wide-ranging – from helping with patient transport and stewarding events, to fundraising and supporting customers in our charity shops.
We’re always in need of volunteers at our charity shops, including out largest store on the corner of Colchester Avenue and Ipswich Road.
Whether you’re looking to make new friends, develop new skills or put your existing experience to good use, volunteering is a rewarding way to give back to your community.
Get creative with Knit Whits
In the Roath area, one of our most creative volunteer groups is the Knit Whits. Meeting weekly at the Dunelm Café on Newport Road every Wednesday from 5-7pm, the group comes together to knit and crochet for a cause.
Their handmade items are sold in shops and at events across Cardiff, raising vital funds for City Hospice, over £6,000 last year alone. New members are always welcome, whether you’re a seasoned knitter or just picking up the needles for the first time.
