Griffin Books Halloween Spook-tacular

Head down to Penarth Pier on Wednesday 26 October for this frighteningly perfect pre-Halloween event in the company of debut authors Carly Reagon and Elaine Canning. They will be interviewed by writer, editor and now publisher, Rebecca F. John.

Carly’s writing is inspired by her love of the Welsh countryside where she lives with her husband and three children. Incredibly propulsive and a genuinely frightening read, The Toll House draws on aspects of the classic ghost story form whilst being a wholly original thriller that reflects themes relevant to contemporary society, including domestic violence and the threat to women from men who seek to possess them.

Originally from Belfast, Elaine Canning is currently Head of Special Projects at Swansea University, which includes the Rhys Davies National Short Story Competition and the Dylan Thomas Prize. Set in Belfast in the early 00s, The Sandstone City is an experimental but accessible work of literary fiction perfect for readers who love Max Porter, Isabel Allende, David Mitchell, and Carlos Ruiz Zafon.

The event is organised by Griffin Books and will take place at the Penarth Pier Pavilion on Wednesday 26 October from 7.30 pm. Tickets are just £7.50 and can be purchased from Griffin Books (9A Windsor Road, Penarth) or online from: www.ticketsource.co.uk/griffinbooks
