Penarth Christmas Lights Switch-On
22nd November – 3pm – Windsor Road, Penarth
The official start to Penarth’s festive season, this beloved tradition transforms the town centre into a glowing winter wonderland. Expect live music, street performers, seasonal stalls, and a visit from Santa himself.
Cardiff Christmas Market
12th November to 23rd December – Cardiff City Centre
Over 200 rotating stalls, offering seasonal treats, mulled wine, and Welsh specialities. The market focuses uniquely on makers, ensuring all exhibitors make their own items, which range from bespoke silver jewellery and hand-thrown ceramics to original artwork and fused glass.
PODS presents Robin Hood
3rd to 6th December – The Paget Rooms, Penarth
The Sheriff of Nottingham has taken over Sherwood Forest and is finding every opportunity to steal from the poor for the benefit of the rich. How else could be afford his Jet2 Holiday? And he’ll need a little extra to fund his extravagant wedding to the feisty, strong, and intelligent Maid Marian (who definitely doesn’t love him back).
Penarth Christmas Tree Festival
4th to 6th December – St Augustine’s Church
This is an annual festival, where over 50 trees are decorated by local schools, charities, and businesses.
Red Herring Theatre presents The Wizard of Oz
17th to 19th December – Penarth Pier Pavilion
Penarth’s Red Herring Theatre brings this classic story to life as a live 1950s radio broadcast, complete with vintage commercials, live sound effects and musical accompaniment.
