Penarth Summer Festival 2025: A Garden Party by the Sea
Penarth Town Council invites you to a day of music, entertainment, and laid-back summer charm as the Penarth Summer Festival returns! This cherished event has become a cornerstone of our community, showcasing Penarth as a vibrant and unique place to live and visit.
On Saturday, 12th July, from 12 PM – 8 PM in the Kymin grounds, expect a mix of family friendly music, street performances, craft workshops, local interest talks, food and drink. All set against the stunning backdrop of Penarth’s coastline. Whether you fancy a picnic on the grass, discovering community stalls, or simply unwinding with friends, the summer festival will have something for you.
This year we welcome the new chapter for the festival after Penarth Town Council recently announced that Downhill Derby will no longer be part of the events list. “The Downhill Derby, a longstanding favourite, has brought immense joy and a strong sense of togetherness to Penarth. Its success is a testament to the creativity and collaboration that defines our town. While the Downhill Derby holds a special place in our calendar, we believe now is the right time to explore fresh ideas that will continue to unite the community and keep our events programme dynamic and engaging.” Although we might miss the Downhill Derby we know we can expect great things and will be replaced with a new exciting events programme with lots to do for the whole family.
Penarth Town Mayor, Cllr Gwenda Roberts, said: “The Summer Festival is always a highlight of the year, and this time, we’re embracing the best of Penarth’s charm with a fresh new community approach.”
As always, the Penarth Summer Festival is a free event and remains committed to being plastic-free, reinforcing the town’s dedication to sustainability.
More details about the festival programme will be revealed soon. Keep up to date by following the Penarth Town Council Facebook page or visiting www.penarthtowncouncil.gov.uk.
