Revitalising Town Centres- Introducing the VZTA Smart Towns App

With online marketplaces offering the convenience of next day delivery, a robust digital presence of provide an immediate route to our town centre communities is as important as the pavements outside our shops.

To help bridge the digital divide, the VZTA Smart Towns app has launched across Penarth and is coming soon to Cowbridge, Llantwit Major and Barry, with the aim of connecting consumers, enabling businesses and developing thriving towns. There is no cost to businesses as the project is funded by the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund, in partnership with the Vale of Glamorgan Council.

The strategic selection of the VZTA Smart Towns platform by the Vale of Glamorgan Council illuminates a forward-thinking investment in the regeneration of town centres. It aims to create a dynamic relationship between consumers and businesses, facilitating a thriving environment for commerce and lifestyle. App users can effortlessly explore their town’s offerings, whether they’re seeking product information, shopping for gifts, or looking for dining options, all from the convenience of their smartphones.

VZTA Smart Towns’ innovative approach allows users to explore their town’s offerings without the need of knowing specific business names, placing all businesses on a level playing field in the fast-growing digital landscape. Local businesses are easily accessible, providing residents with an affordable and scalable solution to support their local economy, whilst attracting visitors and tourists who can view what is going on in our Vale of Glamorgan town centres from other locations at the touch of a button.
