Local woman takes on the Big Welsh Bike Ride in memory of her sister
Cardiff resident, Nickie Morris, will be taking on the Big Welsh Bike Ride this coming September to raise money for Tŷ Hafan Children’s Hospice in memory of her younger sister, Natalie, who sadly passed away when she was 18 in 2004. Nickie will be stepping out of her comfort zone, challenging herself to ride 200 miles from Caernarfon to Cardiff in three days. She hopes to raise £2,000 for her chosen charity and to celebrate the memory and love she has for her sister.
Bute Park’s iconic café reopens after a makeover
The iconic West Lodge in Bute Park, which was once the very popular Pettigrew Tea Rooms is now handing the baton over to the new owners, Brodies Coffee Co on the Wall. When the café reopened on 8 July, locals noticed that the space had an exciting, fresh new look. With exposed brick walls, wood furniture, revived original flooring and decorated with fresh flowers, this new space creates the perfect place to get your coffee and sweet treats right in the heart of Cardiff city centre.
