Sully Sports FC Receives Grant for New Changing Rooms
Sully Sports Football Club has received a grant over £150k from FAW (Football Association of Wales) to update their changing room facilities. This will be a welcomed addition to their other excellent facilities, including five senior football pitches, three mini pitches and an astro turf for training. With a huge playing base of nearly 800 players and one of the best age grade women’s section in the wales, the money went to good use to make the changing rooms more acceptable to their diverse playing base. We spoke to volunteer secretary, Bryn Walters, who expressed his gratitude to the FAW and to the great team beside him; Maria Lyons, Dan Jose, Ashley Ely, Drew Evans and Nic Collins.
The money was a great improvement for the club and all it’s players, “The money means girls can play football in a nice environment we’ve improvise showering and changing facilities. Sully Sports provides football to nearly 800 players across all age groups and sexes.”
The Sully Sports Football Club, provides a great place for young people in the area to enjoy the sport, stay active and has helped some pursue a career in football, “we’ve had many of our boys signed up by pro academies over the years and a recent Welsh female international.” Club’s like this are a real gem in the community and the money that they received allowed them to continue, and improve, what they do best. The club expresses how thankful they are to FAW and Noel Mooney (Chief Executive Officer at FAW), who have given them the opportunity to do this.
