The Green Giraffe Organic Montessori Day Nursery, located in Cardiff Pontcanna, Cardiff Bay, Cardiff Roath The Parade, and Penarth, offers gentle, loving care and fosters a love of learning. With convenient access to parents’ workplaces, we provide an environment where children have the freedom to flourish and are naturally inspired to learn.

We have taken a fresh approach by following the Montessori teaching method and combined it with our knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Phase. Supported by the world of other child theorists, we provide all children in our care with a varied and balanced learning programme.

At The Green Giraffe Organic, Montessori Day Nursery we believe in childhood! Our fully organic environment is very carefully prepared, enabling each child to follow their own developmental agenda. Our team nurture confidence, independence, and self-esteem as a true preparation for life. We provide an emotionally warm environment with fantastic eco-friendly resources, and a beautifully and natural outside environment where children are allowed to be themselves.

Our practitioners and Montessori teachers

We aim to recruit the best in the business. Every member of our team is passionate about providing exceptional childcare and a Montessori education. Their commitment and determination to ensure that the children in our care have a wonderful learning experience (with a few snuggles along the way) is unwavering.

We invest wholeheartedly in our staff, supporting and encouraging them to learn and grow by providing them with up-date training, support and advice, as well as providing expectational employee packages, which include increased holiday allowance with years of service, private health care, and childcare discounts. Our Early Years Quality Manager and Training Manager, trained Montessori teachers providing an outstanding Montessori training program for all our practitioners to ensure we can offer expectational quality of care and education. As well as this, we invest in providing apprentices the opportunities to achieve their childcare qualifications.

Each individual brings their own unique personality and skill set to the team, and we feel truly blessed to have such wonderful childcare professionals and support staff to help us deliver our vision.

We encourage our children to flourish and naturally inspire them to love learning. We believe that learning is a journey, not a race. Play is the serious work of early childhood. Learning takes place with hands, heart, and head. By protecting the right to childhood, we are creating abilities for life.

We give children freedom of choice and movement in a prepared environment, to pursue their own interests and enjoy their own achievements where dignity, respect and independence are of paramount importance.

Our organic life

We have fantastic organic facilities to provide a safe, stimulating, inspiring environment for the children. We care about the environment and the impact we have on it for our children. We teach them to love and protect the environment, and we do everything we can to give them a healthy start in life.

The meals and snacks we provide are always freshly prepared and organic. Cleaning products are natural and eco-friendly, nappies are biodegradable, and toiletries are organic or made from natural, safe ingredients. Most of our toys and furniture in the nursery are made from wood instead of plastic, creating a relaxing and nurturing environment in which children can learn and develop.
