The Turner House Announces Call for Artists: Celebrating the Theme of “Trails”

Penarth Town Council is thrilled to unveil the highly anticipated Call for Artists for The Turner House Open Exhibition. Artists of all ages and abilities are invited to submit their artwork for consideration in this annual event, taking place from September 14th to October 15th, 2023.

The theme for this year’s Open Exhibition is “Trails” (Llwybrau). Artists are encouraged to submit both new and existing works that delves into the concept of trails from diverse perspectives, such as personal journeys, historical pathways, and undiscovered treasures. We warmly welcome artworks in any medium, including painting, sculpture, photography, and mixed media.

Melissa Rabaiotti, Penarth Town Mayor, expressed her enthusiasm for the upcoming exhibition, stating,

“The Turner House Open Exhibition celebrates the dynamic artistic community in Penarth and beyond. It provides an exceptional platform for local artists to showcase their talents and connect with a broader audience.”

To submit your artwork, please visit The Turner House website at www.turnerhouse.wales/open23 and complete the online application form. The submission deadline is midnight on August 6th, 2023.

A distinguished panel comprising representatives from Penarth Town Council, Shop Penarth, and Amgueddfa Cymru will carefully review all submissions. The exhibition is generously supported by the Vale of Glamorgan’s Strong Communities Grant Fund.

The Turner House, operated by Penarth Town Council in partnership with Amgueddfa Cymru, has become an integral part of Penarth’s cultural scene, dedicated to promoting art and culture within our community.
