The Vale Resort Celebrates 25-Year Anniversary with Giveaways and Monthly Offers

The Vale Resort, established in 1999, celebrates its 25th anniversary with promotions starting Tuesday, 2 April, including 25 days of giveaways on social media. Prizes range from golf and spa breaks to afternoon tea and gin-making experiences. The Leekes Retail and Leisure Group, tracing back to 1897 when it began as a small ironmongery in James Henry Leeke’s front room, highlights family at its core.

The independent 4-star Vale Resort, built by the Leeke family, is made up of a 143-bedroom hotel, two golf courses, leisure and sports facilities, Wales’ largest spa, conference facilities, restaurants and bars.

Set in 650 acres of Welsh countryside, the 18-hole Lake Course was built on a site that previously housed nothing more than a small cabin. The course itself was completed in October 1994, and in 1997 it was staging the PGA Wales and the West Championship. The leisure club followed, opening in October 1998, and the hotel itself opened in 1999.

Over the last 25 years, the Resort has hosted over 5 million guests and cleared more than 35,000 barrels of alcohol. Additionally, the Wales National Golf Course was inaugurated by Sir Steve Redgrave in June 2003, while Jilly Cooper introduced her bestselling novel Wicked at a lunch in November 2006.

The Leeke family business dates all the way back to 1897, when James Henry Leeke opened a small ironmonger’s business in his front room in Tonypandy. The family business has expanded, and is now worth more than £70m.

To celebrate their 25th anniversary, the Vale Resort will be kicking off with 25 days of giveaways from Tuesday, 2 April. A golf break and spa break are up for grabs, as are golf lessons, a gin-making experience at Hensol Castle Distillery, tickets to various events (such as Faulty Towers, the Bonfire Night fireworks display and Christmas parties), afternoon tea and personal training sessions.

To take part in the giveaways, people need to keep an eye on the Vale Resort’s social media channels on Facebook and Instagram and react accordingly with the posts.

As well as this, the Vale Resort will also be offering monthly deals, such as afternoon tea, personal training sessions and twilight golf from £25 per person, 25% discounts across the spa and leisure club, as well as a two-course meal in the Vale Grill.

Stephen Leeke, Managing Director of www.valeresort.com, commented: “My great-great-great grandfather started the Leekes family business over 120 years ago, and I’m sure even he could never have envisaged what it would become today. My father, Gerald, is very much a man of great ideas and foresight. It’s thanks to him that we have the Vale Resort that everyone has come to love, why we are home to some of Wales’ best sporting teams, and why my siblings and I have a strong business mindset.”
