Woody’s Lodge is an incredible organisation that provides a safe, supportive and inclusive space for veterans of the Armed Forces, Emergency Services and Reservists to re-engage with life, their friends and family and get back involved with their communities. Stationed at Amelia Trust Farm in Barry, Woody’s Lodge holds meetings with expert advice covering a range of topics and issues.
To continue doing great work for the veteran community, Woody’s Lodge are having their biggest, most ambitious fundraiser yet. A cycling adventure through the magnificent historical region of Normandy in Northern France. This 5 day adventure with travel through the footsteps of those who ended World War 2 in Europe, and will be paying respect to the fallen heroes. 70 cyclist’s will be taking part in the ride with the hopes of raising £130k, which will be their biggest target to date.
The journey starts at Southwark House in Hampshire, then on day 2 they will cycle to Normandy and spend 3 days exploring this iconic region, finishing at Grandcamp-Maisy in the coastal fishing village of Maisy.
During this adventure, cyclist will be stunning attraction such as the Pegasus Bridge, Bayeux Cathedral, La Pont Du Hoc and St. Mere Eglise Liberation Monument. As well as travelling through 5 beautiful memorials and museums like the Royal Military Police Museum, D-Day Underwater Wreck Museum and Classic Military Museum.
Woody’s Lodge is calling for cyclists to take part in this great adventure beginning on the 11th July and ending on 15th July, and to help raise money for an incredible cause.
