Year of the Snake

As we wave goodbye to January a lot of us have already lost the excitement and passion of the New Year fever. We aren’t as passionate about setting new goals for ourselves, starting something new, being as brave and bold as we were in those first few days. But with the current celebration of Chinese New Year, it made me release that January isn’t the only month that we should feel a drive to do better in 2025.

The Chinese New Year we enter into the Year of the Snake. Among other things, the Year of the Snake represents the idea of wisdom and transformation, using initiation and planning to create the kind of year you want. It represents a time of reflection and careful decision-making. But one of my favourite things about this Lunar cycle is that as well as all this, it also celebrates mystery, leaving this new open to finding a version of your life you didn’t know you wanted.

I think this is a brilliant way to look at this coming year. Don’t leave the passion and drive for just January to enjoy. Take this time to think about what you want and plan a course to achieve it. Listen to the advice of others, learn from your mistakes, try new things, reflect on yourself to find what you really need and, of course, embrace mystery.
