‘Tidy Takeover’: Competition Launched In Bid To Keep Local Areas Clean
A competition has been launched in a bid to keep local areas around Wales clean. Keep Wales Tidy, a charity working within Wales to protect the environment, are encouraging young people to pick up and dispose of litter properly.
Running until Friday 17th September, members of the community are asked to post over Keep Wales Tidy’s social media pages with the oldest or weirdest items they find around the community.
Participants under 25 are in with the chance of winning a zero-waste shopping voucher and are encouraged to use the hashtags #CaruCymru and #TidyTakeover when posting their bizarre finds.
Quoting from their website, Keep Wales Tidy said: “We know a good quality environment matters to people and the benefits can have a big impact on our communities, health and well-being and economy.”
“We take action to make a positive difference and our work ranges far and wide! We deliver practical action, environmental education, training, business services and environmental solutions around Wales.”
Taking to Facebook, they revealed some of the weirdest items that their volunteers have found, including jigsaw pieces, a Tupperware of homemade lasagne and a go-kart.
Entries can be made via Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.
