Griffin Books Announces More Big Events for Autumn

Penarth’s independent bookshop Griffin Books will once again hold a bumper programme of literary events this Autumn, including plenty of names you’ll recognise!

The award-winning bookshop recently revealed that they will be co-hosting an event with British pop icon Rick Astley at the Wales Millennium Centre on Monday 14 October. They have now added three other names to their stellar line-up, with more still to be announced.

On Wednesday 18 September former Old Bailey judge Her Honour Wendy Joseph KC will be at The Paget Rooms talking about her must-read new book Rough Justice, which draws on her many years’ experience as a murder trial judge. Her previous title, Unlawful Killings, became an instant Sunday Times bestseller and winner of the CWA Gold Dagger for Non-Fiction 2023.

Welsh rugby star Dan Biggar will swap the training field for the bright lights of Penarth on Monday 30 September as he discusses his new memoir, The Biggar Picture. Honest and self-critical, The Biggar Picture offers a rare insight into Dan’s personal and professional life and talks candidly of his place within rugby.

Award-winning novelist Kate Mosse will be back in Penarth on Thursday 10 October to talk about her gripping new book, The Map of Bones. A story of adventure and hardship, dispossession and injustice, The Map of Bones is the fourth and concluding novel of The Joubert Family Chronicles which began with The Burning Chambers.
