The Vale of Glamorgan Agricultural Show returns on Wednesday, 10 August at a new site in Penllyn!

We are thrilled to be marking the 250th anniversary of the Vale of Glamorgan Agricultural Society in 2022. The society was established in 1772 making it one of the very oldest on record.

2022 marks the beginning of an exciting new ear for the Vale Show as we move to Penllyn. There is a new sit and a new layout, but the same old community spirit, as the show comes home to Cowbridge on Wednesday, 10 August 2022.

The Vale Show regularly attracts over 20,000 people from all walks of life, from town and from country. The show has grown considerably over the years and is now the largest one-day event in the Vale of Glamorgan. Alongside the agricultural exhibits, there are more than 200 trade stands selling a huge variety of goods. You can buy anything from a milkshake to a new car, or even a state-of-the-art tractor.

The Food Court enjoys pride of place on the field selling locally grown and locally made produce, along with a Shopping Mall which allows small traders to exhibit. The show hosts a large Craft Fair and Horticultural Show along with a Home Produce marquee. There will be a Kennel Club registered Dog Show, with as many as 700 dogs of all shapes and sizes competing. We also have a fascinating Rabbit Show, and there is a Countryside Marquee run in association with the Glamorgan Small Holders. The vintage tractor displays have become more and more popular, and this year we also have a classic Land Rover show.

In the main ring, during the afternoon, we have the biggest and best display of farm machinery in action. There’s The Quack Pack for the children to get involved in before the spectacular Grand Parade of all the prize-winning animals. We have the Rockwood Dog Display Team racing later in the ring, and the competition as the show concludes with the scurry competition.
