Loosemores has developed a strong heritage, which is allied with a fresh, modern outlook and an empathetic approach to solving the challenges that our individual clients face. Our lawyers are skilled and trusted advisors who combine in-depth legal knowledge with a breadth of expertise and experience to give our clients the legal solutions they need. Our Private Client team includes Maria Cosslett (Partner), Sabrina D’Acri Davies (Solicitor) and Christopher Cole (Legal Assistant). The team specialises in all aspects of Probate applications and the administration of estates. They also have vast experience in preparing and advising on Wills, Trusts, Powers of Attorney as well as Court of Protection applications.

Wills and Trusts

Having a valid will ensures that you control how your assets are distributed, removing unnecessary stress for your loved ones. A trust in your will can allow you to protect assets and can provide tax advantages. Trusts can also be set up during your lifetime.

Probate

Losing a loved one is very upsetting, made worse by the challenges that come with dealing with their assets. We can help reduce that burden by administrating the estate and calculating any inheritance tax. There can be severe consequences if an estate is incorrectly administrated.

Lasting Powers of Attorney (LPA)

An LPA is a way of giving someone you trust authority to make decisions on your behalf if you become incapable of making your own decisions. We advise and prepare the following LPAs on your behalf:

  • Health and Wealth Affairs
  • Property and Financial Affairs
  • Business LPAs

We can also advise on Living Wills (Advance Decisions).

Court of Protection

Should a person become incapable of dealing with affairs when LPAs are not in place, we can assist with applying to the Court of Protection, for a suitable person to be appointed to make decisions of their behalf.
