Live Wire is a brand new ensemble being brought to life by local musician and private tutor Will Summers-Davies, with an ambitious idea at its heart: to blur the boundaries between classical and contemporary music and create something that feels fresh. And, as Live Wire prepares to make some noise, they’re looking for local musicians to join in.
Live Wire are bringing together passionate musicians to create something bold, exciting, inclusive and completely our own.
From Beethoven to Becky Hill. Debussy to Donna Summer. Pyotr Tchaikovsky to Pete Tong.
Live Wire explores the unexpected — fusing acoustic instruments with electric sounds, classical repertoire with modern anthems, orchestral textures with beats, bass, guitars, keys and everything in between.
Whether you’re an experienced player, returning to your instrument after a break, or simply looking for a new musical challenge, there’s a place for you here.
If you play a string, wind, brass, percussion or electric instrument and want to get involved, now’s the perfect time to join us as we get started.
We want musicians who are curious, creative, supportive and ambitious. People who love making music with others and want to help build an ensemble where everyone contributes to the sound.
You don’t have to be perfect. You just need to be passionate, prepared to have a go, and excited to make something together.
This isn’t just about playing the notes. It’s about creating moments, building friendships, and trying things that shouldn’t work — and making them work.
Come along, meet the ensemble, pick up your instrument and experience what happens when musicians bring their different sounds, backgrounds and ideas together.
Acoustic or electric. Classical or contemporary. Experienced or returning. If you love music and want to be part of something with an electric heart, Live Wire is ready for you.
Rehearsals are relaxed, friendly and focused on exploring new music together.
Thursdays at 7:30pm at Penarth Methodist Church, Woodland Place, Penarth, CF64 2EX
