We were lucky enough to be invited to Penllyn Estate by Forage Farms this month for their ‘Pick you Own Pumpkin’ event. The event ran from the 23rd October to October 31st and was the perfect day for anyone looking for a family-fun autumnal day out.

With so many different activities to do while you’re there, there was something for everyone to get involved with and enjoy. Your £7.50 ticket (£6.50 for an early bird ticket) allowed one car entry to the event, which included access to the pumpkin field, the maize maze, tractor rides, animals and plenty of photo opportunities.

We were given a wheel borrow which the children love to push around the large pumpkin field. It was much muddier than we expected, but that only added to the fun (just make sure you bring wheelies or clothes you don’t mind getting muddy).

We had a great time picking out our pumpkins, especially the kids who couldn’t seem to choose which ones to take home. 

The weather was not on our side but there were still lots of things to keep us entertained. Including a tent with face painting and Halloween themed colouring sheets. And a tractor ride, which seemed to be the decided favourite amongst most people. And so many photo opportunities, you didn’t want to put your camera down.

Once the rain eased and our big (and small) pumpkins were safe in our car, we decided to tackle the maize maze. The maize maze was the perfect adventure for those that didn’t mind getting a little bit muddy. From finding the Witches Lair to the Skeleton jokes hidden inside, the maze was a fun addition to the event.

So although we left quite muddy, we can a car full of pumpkins and some very happy faces. And this won’t be the only event that they’ll be putting on this year. The Christmas Experience 2021 at Forage will run from 25th November to 23rd December.
