Pick Your Own Dahlias at Forage

Throughout August and September, Forage Farm Shop & Kitchen invite you to their new event that is sure to be one of the highlights of the Vale’s attractions this summer. Three acres of land, bursting with 120 varieties of dahlias, gladioli and sunflowers- a veritable carpet of colour beneath local landmark Penllyn Castle, on Penllyn Estate Farm. Partnering with 15-time RHS Chelsea Gold Medallist, Rob Evans, of Pheasant Acre Plants, the field will become a giant cutting garden for visitors to come and pick their own beautiful dahlia bouquet. With a flower arch framing the scene and extensive landscapes stretching as far as the eye can see, you and your loved ones will have ample opportunities to capture memories that will be treasured for years to come. Entry is £6 per car and dahlias can be picked at £1 per stem.

And for the keen horticulturalist, expert in his field, Rob Evans, will be giving tours of the dahlia field on 11, 24 and 25 August 2023 at 2pm. Customers will get to know the dos and don’ts of growing dahlias at home and understand the different classifications of dahlia. Tickets are £35 per person, which includes a 15-stem bouquet you can pick yourself.
