Silures, a high-end yet accessible restaurant and cocktail bar, situated at the old Cameo Club location on Wellfield Road, Roath, is a homecoming for hospitality duo Andrei Maxim and Daf Andrews- and they’re landing London style like true Welsh warriors.

Silures: Of Celtic origin; Welsh Tribe. Celtic root *sīlo-, “seed”, “blood-stock, descendants, lineage, offspring”.

What can I expect?

Sleek interiors, well thought-out, elegant design, and an inviting and relaxing vibe. The perfect escape in a central location, with a restaurant and bar-lounge, and a warm welcome for your beloved dog in their own area. Probably one of the best terraces on the block, this is the place for a classic clientele looking for a high-end product without pretence.

What’s the food like

Think native Welsh lobster, Dorset crab, Atlantic Edge oysters, herb-salted lamb shoulder, 50-day dry aged sirloin and ribeye.

Not a meat or fish eater?

Look out for the Wye Valley asparagus with Champagne vinaigrette, heritage beetroot, blood orange and whipped ricotta with dandelion seeded cracker, raw and pickled spring vegetables with sunflower and wild garlic hummus, grilled artichoke hearts, salt-baked celeriac puree, tarragon crisps, and garden pea and asparagus risotto. If you’re veggie or vegan, they’ve got you covered.

The menu is created by executive head chef, Byron Moussouris (from The Bloomsbury and The Marylebone) using local produce and local suppliers.
