Spring Brings Positive Signs to Penarth’s Property Market

Spring is here, and after a long, cold winter, the early signs of the 2023 property market in Penarth are, just like the daffodils, starting to come through. Following the flux of the autumn, the rising interest rates, difficult mortgage availability, and the general lack of confidence in the economy, things are starting to come around, and we’ve experienced a really busy first two months of the year. Despite the market softening since last summer, things are still positive and values in Penarth, Sully and Llandough have increased by 8% over the last twelve months to February 2023, with rents increasing by 11% over the same time period*.

Now is an ideal time to sell, with longer and (hopefully) warmer days ahead. We’re here as always to lend an expert hand and pass on our knowledge and expertise to guide you through the process of selling or renting your home. Simply pick up the phone, email, or call into the office for a chat.

Easter Egg Collection

On the back of the successful food bank initiative we organised in December, we wanted to run another- this time hoping to donate Easter eggs to the local Trussell Trust food bank. The Christmas collection worked really well and was greatly appreciated. We are now taking donations of Easter eggs- as well as any other suitable food items- throughout March. They can be delivered to our office at any time this month ahead of us making a delivery.

Walk to Work

As a team, we’ve set ourselves the target of shaving 500 miles off our car journeys in 2023 by walking to as many appointments as possible. We made a good start in January and although February proved to be a tougher month, we’re still really please with our progress. Walking to work has been a great help for the body and mind, and with less rushing about in the car it really gives us all the chance to open our eyes, look around us and appreciate where we live. As the weather gets warmer and drier, we hope to do this a lot more, so keep an eye out for us around the town!

Local Charity Support

At the start of the year, we pledged to donate £50 per completed sale to some local charities selected by the team. Our charities for 2023 are Age Connects, Marie Curie, LATCH, Bobath (Cerebral Palsy Cymru), Rescue Hotel (Cardiff Dogs Home) and Nacoa. These work across a wide range of causes, and each one means something to us. More information on each charity can be found online, and on our website www.davidbaker.co.uk. We hope to be sending some donations their way very soon!

The Usual Stuff

Aside from the above, we continue to support our regular cases, sports clubs, schools and events with financial and personal time. Our business depends on the town we live in, which in turn depends on what we all put in together as a community. We’re passionate about helping to make Penarth and the surrounding area the best place to live, shop, grow up, raise a family and work, and it’s vitally important to support local as much as possible.
