At The Green Giraffe Organic Day Nursery, we’ve embraced the Montessori teaching method and integrated it with the Early Years Foundation Phase and insights from other child development theorists. Good food creates good health and a good mind. It enables children to learn, play and enjoy life. All our food is homemade, organic and cooked with no salt or sugar. Henry’s mum says: “My son is very well looked after and I can go to work without worrying and his welfare. I know he is going to do lots of fun activities and enjoy himself. Beautiful facilities and excellent food, and lots of cuddles and affection too.”

Outdoor activities

We have our own protected and safe natural outdoor areas, and we visit local parks, where your children can experience nature for themselves.

Teacher-led activities

Activities include painting, drawing, crafts and domestic arts such as cooking and baking, as well as cleaning and care for themselves and others. The strong tradition of oral storytelling and puppetry will be part of every morning, and will end the day.

Our rooms

We carefully consider every aspect of our nursery environment to ensure it is gentle and pleasing to a young child’s senses, creating a space that is both beautiful and calming to the eye, ear, and beyond. The physical space is designed to be home-like and as free from exterior distraction as possible. The scale of the space is not overwhelming to a small child, there are no hard corners, and it is decorated in soft tones and pastel colours to create a gentle, secure atmosphere.
