Beautifully made curtains can transform a room, bringing together colour, texture and style while keeping the chill at bay. We explore the difference curtain headings and how to choose the right finish for your space.
It’s autumn, which means it’s raining, blowing a hooley outside, and the best place to be is at home, cosy and warm. So, let’s talk curtains!
Curtains are one of our main products at Jewels Interiors. They make a room feel finished and elegant, while also helping with insulation. In terms of cost, they’re an investment, but they’re also made to last. We have returning clients who have had their curtains for over 25 years, and I always say that if they’re made well, they’ll stand the test of time. When you look at it that way, the investment makes perfect sense!
We know that the endless choice of fabrics can sometimes feel a little daunting, and that’s where we come in.
One of the best parts of my job is gathering fabrics samples and putting together schemes to help clients bring their rooms to life. I have several clients at the moment who are right in the thick of finalising their decisions. It’s the stage everyone looks forward to, especially when there’s been dusty building work going on and you’re desperate to get back into your home and see everything finished!
So, if you’re looking to pull a room together, we’ve got you covered. Here’s a guide to some of the curtain heading styles we’re most frequently asked about.

^ Pencil pleat – A gathered, relaxed style that works beautifully in a variety of settings, particularly bedrooms.

^ Wave heading – One of our most popular choices, creating soft, even folds for a clean, contemporary look.

^ Double pinch pleat – Another firm favourite, offering a tailored, timeless finish that’s particularly suited to more classic interiors.
