Set within beautiful grounds, with landscaped gardens giving way to open fields, this detached home offered the perfect opportunity to create a kitchen that celebrated its surroundings.

Making the most of those views was central to the redesign. Removing a small study opened up the kitchen and dining area, while a new picture window frames the neighbouring fields, often dotted with grazing sheep. At the heart of the space sits a generous island, thoughtfully positioned so the family can enjoy views of the gardens to the front and rear, or watch television over breakfast. Its contemporary oak detailing creates a beautiful contrast with the more traditional Shaker cabinetry, bringing warmth and texture to the scheme.

The island also provides a natural gathering place for cooking and entertaining. A downdraft hob keeps sightlines clear, while cleverly concealed storage maintains the streamlined appearance.

Carefully considered details like a dedicated breakfast cupboard and bespoke larder provide beautifully organised storage, while a separate tea and coffee station makes everyday routines effortless. A generous preparation space and integrated appliances ensures the kitchen works just as well for busy family life as it does for entertaining guests.

Statement brass lighting draws the eye above the island, cleverly softening the presence of an overhead beam, while complementary wall lights add character to the main cabinetry.

The result is a beautifully balanced space, where traditional craftsmanship meets contemporary design, and every element has been considered to make the most of its spectacular setting.
