Sparks Film School filmmaking classes ignite imagination, build confidence and encourage a host of new skills for young filmmakers.
Sparks Film School Cardiff West students learn all about the different aspects of filmmaking in our fun, friendly and practical classes. Students learn about every stage of the process, from screenwriting, shooting, editing and starring on screen too. On our film set, students will step into all the crew roles you find on a real film set and work together to produce unique films to feel proud of.
Taking part boosts imagination, confidence and practical skills. It’s also a great way to make new long-lasting friendships. Classes are led by our passionate team of creative film tutors, who are all experienced and fully-vetted, including DBS checks. As part of our small class size, young filmmakers thrive as they receive plenty of personalised attention, encouragement and support.
Based in Howells School, Llandaff, Sparks Film School Cardiff West welcomes students from across Cardiff, the Vale of Glamorgan, and surrounding communities. The school runs weekly filmmaking classes during term time for ages 7-14, alongside Easter and summer holiday camps that offer immersive, high-energy creative experiences.

Weekly Saturday classes

Easter camp
3-day camp, 30 March – 1 April, 9am-3pm (extended hours available). Howells School, Llandaff. Theme: Operation heist!
Summer camps
