
Molly Maid, a trusted name in home cleaning for over 40 years, is expanding its expertise into eco-friendly cleaning products. Motivated by customer demand and a commitment to sustainability, the focus is on safe, effective, and eco-conscious solutions, reflecting Molly Maid’s dedication to both customer care and the planet.
We asked Marie-Claire Hopkin, who covers Cowbridge and the Vale of Glamorgan, what inspired the company to make the change to planet-friendly products. “We switched to safer cleaning products because they are safer for the environment and our teams of cleaners. Since COVID-19, many of our customers have even been asking us if they could purchase them themselves, especially the anti-bacterial sanitiser. There are no other professionally-endorsed, eco-friendly products on the market, so they have been quite popular. The eco-friendly market is also expected to double in the next few years, which, in combination with our brand recognition, provided what we think is the perfect opportunity to launch the products online.”
Marie-Claire comes from an education background, so we ask her what the motivation was behind running her own cleaning franchise? “I decided in 2021 to have my own business, so I would have the time and flexibility to spend with my family. I decided on Molly Maid after thoroughly researching the franchise opportunities. A friend had been a Molly Maid in her student days in London, and I remembered it was a high quality cleaning company that she loved working for. After reaching out to them, I could see they were professional and supportive, and their premium cleaning ethos and products really suited my vision.”
She goes on to explain: “Molly Maid provides high quality cleaning, reliability and service. It has won prizes in the Elite Franchise Awards year-on-year. Whilst there are many Molly Maid franchises around England, Scotland and Ireland, just one exists in Wales – ours. We operate within our designed postcode coverage area in Wales, as all Molly Maid in Wales, but I would love for there to be more. I’d recommend it to anyone. Four years in, we have two teams on the road, and over 70 regular customers. I am so proud of the staff I have, and the work they do, and I am always confident that a good job will be done by them. Seeing the business grow, knowing the quality service we deliver, has really been an achievement for me. It has been really rewarding.”
